FoxPro Question
« on: September 17, 2011, 04:17:50 PM »
On one of our pieces of property we are having a tough time with this one coyote. I missed him from 20 yards with my bow shooting through a ton of limbs and my dad was caught reaching for his bow by him the next day. Im curious what sounds on the foxpro works best for wetside yotes? which ones or combinations do you have your best luck with?

I have really good luck with pup distress. I used to use a powerdogg but now I have a firestorm and I dont know what the sound is called but it is pups whining. I think maybe its called 'coyote death cry' or something like that?  I also do well with jack distress, maybe cottontail but no so much. ANything that sounds like its dying a painful death!  :chuckle:   But like demontag said, they are really interested new sounds too, I've called them in with rodent sounds and just messing around squeaking/squealing on my mouth calls too.
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!

We are really having coyote problems at our properties. We jumped 2 in a clearing last sunday and we had bows so no shot. Tried to call them a couple hours later but no luck!

What area is this in? Can you shoot rifles out there? I might be interested in coming out to 'help' you, if of course you wanted any help!  :chuckle:

I also use a Quiver Critter rabbit decoy and they seem to love that. You might want to try something like that or a feather on a stick or string to draw their attention away from you so you can raise & draw without getting busted.  :twocents:
