im heading out but not holding much hope. if it wasnt for my special permit for second week of october I would be VERY dissapointed with the direction early season is headed.

We went out, but got no responses to the bugle or cow calls (but 3 weeks ago we got responses). Does the heat shut them down so quickly? Places we seen plenty of elk were no where to be seen ... this is west of the cascades.
