But at my spot I'm getting pics of cows calf
2 nice bulls
Anyways I hunt till around 9 am I heard some
Large sticks breaking by the way I'm in a tree stand
No move ment so I go re stock my bait pile
I'm still have that large stick breaking in my mind
5:30 pm comes drop son off with ma at soccer
I'm gone in search of the stick breaker
I start heading to my tree stand. Were I park
My rig it's only 300 yards from road
"there are real good hunting spots by major roads"
Anyways I'm walking to my stand real quit
Got hs scent away on I believe in this stuff
Cause I think out of my left eye I just seen
A huge rack and I know it wasn't there a few
Hours ago I back up look to my left
NOT 7 yards YES 7 Yards is a tank of a bull
Real fast I counted up to eight on the left
Mind u I'm a crossbow user people on this site
Know that..IM LOOKING AT THIS BULL 7 YARD
HES BLINKING AT ME THAT'S HOW CLOSE I WAS I SHOOT
HES FLYS OUT OF HIS BED RUNS 20YARDS STOPS
NO MORE SOUND IM THINKING THAT WAS EASY
GUESS WHAT I ----ING MISSED NO BLOOD
NO HAIR IM THINKING ARE U KIDING ME..
7 YARDS SORRY FIR USING CAPS BUT IM
SICK HOW COULD I MISS AT 7 YARDS

I missed a cow with my muzzle at about ten yards in 05, and  I'm still pissed

missed slapping a big bull on the a$$ by no more than 5yds a couple years back. (spike only area). last day of season, wind was right so i figured what the heck, lets see what i can do. the sneek was on. DAMN TWIG !

Crossbow,   'Not hunting in Washington', right?  (Disabled hunter?)

Miss at 7yds?   Tree limbs and such do that to bullets and arrows/bolts.

Could I flinch or in some way screw up a shot that close? If it's not something that can shoot back at me, Doubtful.

Sorry bud.. Hopefully you can find solice in the possibility that a branch deflected your arrow.

He's disabled. But a crossbow would also be legal in a Firearm Restriction Area.

Just be thankful you didnt make a bad shot and wound him!  I'll take a clean miss anyday!  Even at 7 yards

Guess I'm not on here much... 

All ya gotta do is put 'disabled hunter with crossbow' or hunting with crossbow in a firearms restricted area, and there would probably never be a question. 'People know me on here' might not be enough.

Ditto!  But it was a spike.  I still go over it in my head every season.

Yeah unfortunately it really su$cks when you miss .... but eventually it happens to everyone .....I remember missing a buck when I was a kid and did not sleep for days over it and since that day I now make sure to take a deep breath and squeeze the trigger  with a bow or gun !
