Ammo for 300 WSM

Just purchased a 300 WSM Tikka T3. What ammo does anyone suggest and in what grain? I will be using it for Deer and Elk this year. Thanks.

Barnes bullets, 150 to 168 grain.

Or, Nosler Accubond, 165 or 180 grain.

My buddy has a Browning SS in the same caliber and has had good results on elk, deer and Moose with the Winchester supreme 180gr Accubond factory loads.  Been out shooting with him and they shoot nice as well, but are spendy.  I've personally seen the results from that gun on 2 Moose and an elk, and they perform very nicely.

180gr federal accubonds shoot great out of my browning stalker. I shoot 3/4'MOA and have killed 2 elk. Both where one hitter quitters. First one was 90yds and the second was 423yds.

My Browning X Bolt is very fond of 165 grain Barnes TSX bullets.  The critters shot by it don't have the same affection.

Ditto on the Accubond 180s. I shoot the Federal Premium load thru my Sako and the combination shoots fantastic. I have taken deer, Shiras moose, and antelope with exceptional bullet performance on each. This year I hope to use it on a big elk. The 180s will have more energy down range to make the bullet perform better than the lighter bullets do. For elk it may make a difference, deer won't care. Trophy Bonded Tip and Barnes Triple Shot X loads are also excellent. I think the Accubond will expand quicker with something like 80% weight retention while the other 2 will have more controlled expansion, have close to 100% weight retention, and penetrate even deeper. For deer and elk all 3 will get the job done. If I was going to shoot a grizzly or big Alaskan moose I would use the TBT or TSX. For deer and elk I like the Accubond. All are pricey but you are using them to close the deal not go plinking. Buy a box of each and figure out which one your gun likes best. Use a good gun rest when you sight in if you have one because the 300 mags have a reasonable recoil. You can not go wrong with any of these.

If you want killer factory ammo check out the winchester xp3 ammo. I really wish they would sell that bullet for me to reload in my guns. If you reload, accubonds all the way.

I've also had similiar luck with the Winchester XP3 (180 gr.) in my Sako 75 finlight, which is essentially a gussey'd up version of your tika.  I believe they both have the same twist (1-10) so it should stabilize a heavier 180 gr. bullet lilke mine does.  The last two elk I've shot have been lung shots in heavy timber and I've watched them both drop seconds after the report.

I've also wanted to try handloading the 210 gr accubond.....
