so you guys who love your ar15's and wish you could hunt deer with them without having to buy new recievers and such.

well remington has the answer the R-25...

comes in 243., 7mm-08, and 308. 20" barrel. i think that would be a cool little deer rifle

nope just one...but i want to be able to stop and cook some burger on the pack out  :drool: makes life easy.

i just seen they weigh in at 8ish lbs. which is to heavy for my liking.

i was thinking the same thing. ive always wanted to get and ar15 and convert it to 308

You could just get an AR10 and not worry about converting.

That is why the made the AR-10. You cannot convert a AR-15 to the .308 family of cartridges.

Yep,thats correct, I believe the cartridge length is longer on the .308 family, making the magazine bigger/longer front to back. So the mag well in an AR-15 is going to be too small.
