So I crouched down, and backtracked out of his site....checked my deer, and he was still there. I almost hated leaning over to look at him...ever look through binos at a high altitude, hanging out over a cliff. KINDA makes you lose your balance.......
I went back about 50 yards creeping in the rocks trying not to send any shale down the hill. There was no way to get closer. I crept back. Both bucks still there....about that time, a small three...very heavy but small framed and def a yound deer came trotting out from under me up to between both of us. I figured the show was over. I froze. Both deer were focused on me now. About 15 minutes passed. I stood there frozen. They were in no hurry. Finally the 3 disappearedand the bedded buck lost interest. I slipped back and my buck was still there.
