Packwood yote hunting
« on: June 28, 2008, 05:57:13 PM »
Does anyone know if there is any good yote hunting around or near Packwood??? I live in Kelso and my boy wants to get out and get it on but I'm not real sure where to go. I'm new at yote hunting, but the boy thinks I'm the sh*& so I need to to figure it out.

Thanks,
Mike

I tried down around Morton last year, i still dont have em figured out but i did have one repsond to a locator howl (primos call), if u can get permission to hunt the farmlands between morton and randle, that would be the place to go, ive seen coyotes out there on more than one occasion. Keep ur eyes peeled for bobcats, i had one that came in undetected and left me only with a blur of fur, if it werent for the tracks in the snow i would not have known what it was.

Not sure where that is, but it sounds wooded.

Watch for droppings on the road in wooded areas. 'Yotes like to use dirt roads, easier walking, and they will usualy crap in the same spot again and again. Gives 'em away.
