You know that they make an ointment for that!  How big were your rockies?

I think he is going to need a little bit more than ointment for that!

I've found  a steamer pot works a hell of a lot better than any ointment.
they disappear real quick after a hot steam bath :chuckle:  :chuckle:

We run ring's and pot's. Tally was 8 legal Rock's and one Dungie, but we only put in 2 hours and the tides were terrible. Go deep for Dungie's, over 100'. On better tides, we usually do a little better in numbers.

funny thing...maybe it's got something to do with location, time of year, not sure, but whenever we go out after them, we get limits in less than 20-30' of water. we have dropped rings off of posession and the water was so shallow you could watch them run into the rings.
good eats for you either way.

Those be some nice sized rockies!!
It all depends where you is.  I have caught some of my biggest (over 10") in 60' of water.  I caught dungies in Alaska at 400', pretty darn deep for them!  I usually run pots from 40' on down to 200'.  Fishing pressure, tides and available feed dictates where they hang out.  I keep trying to get back out but life keeps interfering right now.  Maybe Thursday?

I can only hit it on the weekends, though I may be out this Saturday. True, true, I was speaking of the depth strictly in that area, but I've also caught Dungies in 35' depths in the Canal.

I finally got to fish without losing all my gear!  Haahaaa.....  Wound up with 3 keeper dungies and 1 red rock.  Nothing real big.  We fished the same old spot at Nisqually.  My oldest girl is excited to have her own seafood fest with the crab and salmon that she caught.

I finally got out on Saturday out of Everett.  We fish two pots and 3 rings and ended up with 6 keeper Dungees.  Only got 4-5 Rocks but were way too small.  Been pretty tough around that area lately.  I was out for a little over 4hrs., but got a buddy that was out for over 8hrs. and came home with 2.

Sorry no pics.....stupid battery was dead in the camera.  :bash:  Fun day though!

Cool, I heard the Canal is on fire. Full pots are the norm in several areas. I won't be able to get up there until mid August though.
