Underarmour Boots
« on: September 20, 2011, 04:17:38 PM »
Has anybody seriously tried out the under armour speed freek boots yet? They are very light, seem comfy in the store,  and are waterproof but im not sure if they will hold up for serious hiking.  I bought a pair today to wear around the house tonight just to see how they feel.  Im just afraid to spend that much money to wear them outside and have them not be worthy.

I got the Ridge Reapers. They are extremely comfortable and well built, but leak like a SOB after a dozen or so trips.

I looked at them but got the Keen Targhee II's instead, waterproof, light and so far the most comfortable light hikers I've ever tried. They have been out on numerous outings already as well as becoming my daily wear within the first week with nothing but praise.

I wondered about the Underarmour boots, all of the other stuff I have from them has been great.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

2 of my hunting pards tried them out, both liked them. They put them through some serious miles, they both leaked a little after very prolonged use in h20 and both had minor hot spots. But overall they were satisfied.

IMO under armour shoes of any kind are not worth the money. For some reason I have had bad luck with them. Mainly cleats and trainer shoes but they were bad enough to make me question their boots.

Bought a pair of Under Armor Speed Freek books. They feel good and are super lite. I think they will be great early season or half way crappy weather boots. I have some Kenetrek pac boots for the real cold and crappy weather but they sure get heavy after a lond day in the field.

Now I need to get out into the field to really try them out.

How do these handle in the cold weather?  I noticed the only boots they have that are insulted are the Siberia boots.  Not a big fan of 10" boots.
