Called one in for a photo-op
« on: August 27, 2011, 04:31:31 PM »
A small pair came into my e-caller's rabbit distress.  They came in good until they were about 50 yards from the caller, and they held up.  They skulked around for about 5 minutes before leaving.  This was in a park where I won't be shooting later...

They came about 2 minutes after I began calling.  All I could see were ears in the tall grass, and my first thought was "rabbit"!

Cute little fella...nice pic!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Nice photo, I just killed one yesterday. They were getting to close to the house and I want to keep the cats alive for a while longer.
Checkin' wind and makin' smoke.

Nice going. It seems that it worked out for you doing it this way. Maybe you should take the camera and I'll take the rifle next time out! :chuckle: :chuckle:
May you have a target rich environment!

Well, Sidewinder, a choice was made this week, "new gun" or "new camera lens".  This week,  "new lens" won out.  I aspire to take even better pictures of coyotes (plus many other critters) using a Canon 100-400 lens, with 1.4 extender.  I can expect greater crispness and detail in my images.

Oh, I'll take my gun with me on many-a-trip, for sure.  I went out with Jerry Malbeck Sunday.  In four stands we only saw one coyote, but his son Jared put him down solidly (his accuracy was "on the nose", so to speak).  That young man (just 12 years old) has a good eye for spotting coyotes on the move at well over 400 yards.  I was impressed!
