2011 Wyoming Elk Hunt
« on: September 23, 2011, 01:54:23 PM »
We just got back from Wyoming and I thought I would share a few pics.  It was an amazing hunt.  We called in 19 different bulls on the hunt.  Dad arrowed a 340+ 6x6 on video on the afternoon of the 17th.  The following morning I called a 6x6 herd bull into 25 yards using a Sleazy Cow Call and made a one shot kill.  We got some great footage of the hunt.  I hope you enjoy the pics.  Good Huntin', Chad

Wow, congrats!!

I've never researched Wyoming, is that a permit drawing for bulls?

Jackmaster - This was a D-I-Y hunt in Eastern Wyoming.  We arrived 5 days before opener to scout the area and spent a total of 18 days hunting.  We looked a lot of area over trying to locate different bulls.  We hiked some pretty rugged terrain and both Dad and I lost nearly 20 pounds on the hunt.  It made for some great memories.  The video footage we shot will be used on an instructional elk hunting dvd we've been working on for the past 3 seasons.

Great pics but that don't look like Eastern Wyoming to me.  I may be wrong.  It's happened before.   ;)

Wow, 18 days hunting...that's some endurance!  Great job, sounds like you and your dad really earned those bulls.     I'm jealous, wish I had that much time to hunt!

Jackmaster - No, I didn't go to Sumner HS.  I was born and raised just outside Spokane.  The last picture I posted is of Dad at full draw on the bull he shot.

Very awesome!  Now that gets me worked up.  I'm heading that way next week. Won't make it to eastern Wyoming though. ;)

Nice bulls guys!! Congrats!! Have always liked your guy's videos and can't wait to see this footage soon. You gotta love the sleazy. It seems like yesterday when I first used the sleazy. In all reality, it's been almost like fifteen years. Your Dad's calls have definitely worked well for us. Congrats again to you and your Dad.

No, that's not Cameron Hanes in the picture.  If it was I would of made him carry a heavier load.  I'll have to tell Justin he looks like Cameron.
