Deer Hunting in Entiat this year
« on: September 28, 2011, 01:40:38 PM »
Well, it's official. looks like I can't get time off for the usual 5-6 day deer hunt this year and I'm at a new job so I can't really push the issue.  :bash: I do get opening day and the next off. So I was going to go someplace a bit closer for me on a couple of day hunts or maybe a 2 day assault on the Entiat region staying in a hotel or something around there. Anybody who may be in the same boat the first few days of general modern season. Let me know if your a solo hunter and maybe we could partner up and i can help you out.

I could just go closer to home here on our property but blacktails around here live in the thick stuff plus it seemed there were quite a few solo hunters last year looking for help so I thought I would offer.

Hey man do what you gotta do and take the work when you can get it. We all have the rest of our lives to hunt the bucks we dream of. I am a archery hunter and because of the way work is looking come Nov. I shot a doe during the last week of the early season. Go out in that thick chit and get you self a nice blackie.  Any one can shoot a mule deer. :chuckle: :chuckle:
Remember that buck is climbing that Mt. every day!

Alright, I know it sounds like I'm asking for a honey hole. Thats not it at all. Just figured if someone else is hunting solo and wanted to team up to help each other out it would be cool. I can find my own way around just fine and have no problem hunting by myself. In most cases I prefer it. Just thought I would throw it out there because last year there were alot of solo hunters out there wanting to team up with someone.

I know its full of hunters every year in Entiat, so finding the deer wont be a problem. I'll let all you other road hunters push them to me cause I'll be hiking out...... :chuckle:

I'm thinking about headed up that way myself. I've never been up there, though, so I may go chase white tails in Little Pend Oreille instead. Would you be headed up the first weekend or the second?

I'd love to meet up and head over and maybe work some area together. I'll have a few extra days beyond the weekend, but I'm always open to learn from other folks and explore new area.

If you have a suggestion of where to camp, that would be greatly appreciated as well...

fishingnut71....sorry I don't remeber you. :dunno:  Me asking has nothing to do with looking for help myself. Yes, last year I was disappointed because plans fell through. This year its a different set of circumstances. We had plans for an outfitter this year but most of us cant get the time off. Sorry if I disappointed you last year for some reason. This post was not meant to ask for any kind of help, I guess maybe I worded it wrong. My intention was to help someone else out since my original plans have changed. Last year I remember there were alot of solo hunters asking to team up with someone, so I was letting people know that if they want to tag along, its ok by me.

I actually prefer hunting deer alone. Easy to pack out by yourself, and keener senses than other big game so they are easier to solo hunt. I've been trying lately to help out some of the other hunters on this board with showing them productive places to hunt and even calling them when I see an animal to give them the option to come out and harvest it if they have the time.  Just trying to give back what was so nicely given to me at one point from other members on this board.

fishingnut71....no worries man. I just really hope I didn't offend you or disappoint you last year for some reason. That would never be my intention.
