Come opening weekend of the modern season the elk will be running all over hell and creation because the pressure. Like a lot of others said just find a good place to sit and watch (not in your truck).

I hunted during the muzzy season go in the deep canyon SW of knat flats the elk are in there away from the roads unforunately I din't have a oppurtunity at a spike, lots of cows and bulls 9(stay away from the roads)

Was in the observatory 2 nights ago and seen several shooter cows. Was also near watt canyon and see a couple cows but they were 4-500 yards away. Good luck with your tag.
