Winter elk late archery hunt
« on: November 21, 2011, 03:06:16 PM »
So I know to check the northern slopes during the early season because elk like the cooler north slopes.  That being said, would they be on the southern slopes trying to catch the heat from the sun?  I remember hunting in october on the east side and bumped some elk on the south east slope.  What's your experience?

Elk go wherever they want to go whenever they want to do it.  Elk will be up and moving in the late season if any weather hits and it looks like we will have some weather.  My best advice would be to find travel lanes and sit sooner or later elk will come.

Food source and cover... the route in between.  Saddles, drainages..... google earth is your friend.
