BT Down.
« on: November 19, 2011, 08:43:59 PM »
Well it's not the one I was hoping for, but with one day left, I couldn't pass him up.  I fought back in forth in my head for about 10 minutes before I decided to pull the trigger.  I got him right through the heart with my muzzleloader and he made it about 15 yards.  I really would have liked to let him grow but I also really like meat in my freezer.  It's been a pretty good couple of years hunting these BT's.  Next year I really hope to get to the East side of the state to do some Muley hunting.  I really wanted to this year, but with my work/deployment schedule and having a family, it just didn't pan out.  I have a year and a half left on this enlistment so next year might be my last chance at a WA Muley.  I'm not sure where the road leads after that.  I posted my BT bucks from the 3 years I have been out here so far.  1st-this year, 2nd-last year, 3rd-year before.  It's been a little of a decline. :chuckle:

I've noticed that also, the big boys are coming out at night. We decided to break brush and walk
on the trails, we had the road to our left about 100 yds when he spooked a nice 3x 50yds in between
us and the road just laying down. Nice buck, congrats....

I hear ya on letting them grow up. I have passed on two different spikes 4 times alone last weekend. WBut lately thats all that comes by. Not even does. So starting thanksgiving weekend if they come back again they will die. Because in the end ya gotta fill ypur freezer. I've already got 1/2 an elk and 1 deer already. But I wqnt more. Still got three tags left.
