Late 460 blacktail
« on: November 22, 2011, 11:57:49 AM »
My brother got drawn for the late buck hunt in 460 this year. He got out to his spot before first light on Nov 18th.

Saw some does and a little spike then at 8:15 saw this nice little 3 point and decided to take it. It was a 190 yard shot slightly up hill and he dropped it with a single shot to the spine.

He hiked up to it about 15 minutes later and finished it with a single shot to the neck.

He we was close to home and after he got it gutted out in the field he took it home and skinned it out in the garage. We let it hang for 3 days in there then butchered it up and threw it in the freezer.

Thanksgiving morning my Dad and I will be hunting with our late muzzle loader tags in 460 and are hoping to produce similar results.

Nice job! What city or town if you dont mind me asking? I've debated trying a section of 460 in Sultan but always considered it too thick.

I think we got like 80 or 90 lbs off of him.
