Hey Red...

Yes I am a spear fisherman along with another member that goes by Rob on this board.  We have been discussing Halibut spearfishing for years and he has made an attempt or two as well.  Do those Halis come from a spearfishing trip?  Seriously?  We need to talk!

Have wanted to spear a butt or two. Shot mostly ling, cabs, and a black rockfish or two back in the day when they were open. Some nice looking fish you got.

I tried it a couple times awhile back, but I havent been diving in a long time, I'm thinking over 10-12yrs ago. But I got a ling, an ugly ol cabezon and few crab too! But I want to get back into diving, I've been meaning to look into a class to get my 13yr old son certified so I can get out with him. Just kinda wondering if should even get him into yet though. Still kinda risky, especially if you are not very experienced - and I am not! :chuckle:
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!

Redshark,

Nice looking fish.  Keep me in mind if you need any more bodies in the boat.  Have gear, will travel....   ;)

I'd like to try to get out up here more as well (San Juans).
