Great story and hunt. What was the name of outfitter?

Mighty nice bull, congratulations!

Good write-up too - even with a good outfitter/guide, a hunter has a fair chance of coming home empty handed if things don't work out right during the hunt.

Good point, we worked out tails off to get the bull we did, I had turned down a good 6X6 bull on Sunday afternoon with the thought of getting a better bull.  I have never gone "trophy" hunting, always happy to work hard and get a decent branched bull, however this hunt was at the edge of my comfort zone for cost and I wanted to take advantage of the 5 days to hunt.  Most likely a once in a lifetime experience for me.

My friend that invited me had not hunted and was hoping I would go and help him get prepped for the hunt.  All in all it started with the ordering of a 300 Weatherby from the Custom gun department at Weatherby through Kesselrings.  Donny did a great job helping us get it in time for the hunt.

Then I helped my friend get it sighted in at Plantation Range and do enough shooting to be competant and learn gun safety.

It was great that the results were worth the effort.

Thanks.  No that I'm home and have access to a computer I will post one last pic that may show the mass better.  I hope it comes across as well as the larger mb.

Again, thanks to all that checked out my bull.
