ghost buck turns real
« on: November 30, 2011, 01:15:38 PM »
Submitted this back in June; some questioned the authenticity of the picture
Just pulled this camera and found what might be the same buck (?) with the same tree behind him
Wondering if he knew it was opening day?

Looks really close to me too. Great pics by the way. How do you like that Cuddeback? How did someone question the authenticity of the pic?

Because you can see through the antlers, or at least thats what it looks like?  :dunno:

Not disputing that it's real. The difference though is it looks like the antlers are the only part you can see through and its the entire antler. Your blurriness follows the leading and trailing edge of movement. Just looks like too slow a shutter. The deer looks like its got magic velvet antlers. I think it looks pretty cool.

will say this; I returned the original camera to Cuddeback with the same symptoms....this is a different cam in the same spot......i have 6 cams going in 4 different counties with no similar symptoms....I can' t explain it and neither can they
I will say that I am very happy with the quality of the pics...you can see from both my posts today from 3 different locations that they take excellent night pictures
You be the judge

Your cam has been eating nearby mushrooms. No reason to return it

I have had similar effects with my capture here are a couple of samples, the cow appears to be missing its hind left leg from the knee down.

It appears that the symptoms are almost identical; vegetation and daylight conditions look very similar
My night pics are always good....only some of my day pics are screwed up
See this buck taken without motion and without the bright contrast that we see in the problem pics...my conclusion is that certain lighting conditions are a "precondition" of the ghost look
Must just be the cameras...

look like different bucks to me.  the hard horned buck look at least a year or two older than the velvet buck.
