Why no winston

I see modern and archery have a general season for 520 why isnt there for   smokepoles? Any ideas

They have a permit season for smokepoles and they are giving out about 500 cow tags.  The archery hunters are in there too.  They are trying to ruin the unit and I feel sorry for the elk. They are running for their lives from September - January. If the hunters don't get them they may die from fear.

That's why (what you just said). Generally a unit that's open for archery is not open for muzzleloader. There are some exceptions to that, because they do have some units open for both archery and muzzleloader late seasons at the same time, but only the units that are no good. (like Skookumchuck)

Now it's Sept. to the middle of Jan. with the 200 modern cow tags handed out this year.
