Hornhoarder,

Thanks for posting. It is awesome to see their progression from year to year.

Today I saw a winter kill 4x5 that was unbelievable!! His one G-4 was tiny but his main 4x4 frame was amongst the biggest I have ever seen in person. One side was especially strong and I estimate his right G-2 at over 15 inches. He had it all width, mass, and length... simply an unbelievable animal.

Was it a recent winterkill? Did you take any pictures?

You can never have too many trail cameras...and they are a blast to use.

Amazing Whitetails.  What I glean from all the photos is they only show up at night....after shooting light or just before shooting light.  Would love to see some pictures of you guys kneeling next to one and grinning ear to ear?

They don't "only" show up at night but without a doubt they primarily show up at night. If they didn't then there is no way they would get as big as they do. I have daylight photos of every buck I have posted on here except for this one ( which I just found so give me some time next year and if he is still alive I will get some daylight photos of him too). I do have daylight photos on this website of the biggest buck I have ever had on camera (200+ inches gross) and he was taken by another hunter this year. That same buck actually showed up at one of my cameras during daylight during the muzzleloader, modern firearm and late archery seasons so any user group could have taken him. Unfortunately I was hunting 300 yards to the south when he showed up on my camera during the late archery.

I would love to see another hunter or I kneeling next to one of these once of a lifetime trophies grinning ear to ear too.....but knowing they are out there and having the opportunity to hunt them is the best part for me.

Hey thanks for the "day time" photos!  Gives me the encouragment for sitting in my stand during late season in the low teens!  Did not see any this year during day light...but it was still a good time for sure!  I missed the rut but gave it my best.

The last two week of late archery season is a great time to catchy daylight activity of mature bucks..... it is one time you know where they will be for sure....on the prime food sources.
