Ya surplus didn't have anything I was interested in a few weeks ago when I bought my lower from them but they where a great shop answered all my questions without making me feel like a Dumbarss (my first ar build so I am when it comes to them but I hate being treated Like one when I'm spending alot of money) is rainer a online only place?

Heck no, they are in Auburn. Open 10am-7pm, they do nothing but AR's. They will have a assortment of uppers our they will put a upper together in any configuration you like. Their web site is kept up to date on components they have on hand. You can surf the barrels, hand guards, rails, upper receivers etc  and have them put together whatever you want. I just purchase what I like and assemble it myself. Those guys would be more than happy to walk you through it in the store.

hey thanks for the tip with rainer i ended up with a 18" ultramatch barrel apex handgaurds rainer upper and chrome thunder bolt. christmas came early when i get it assembled ill post a pic

and yes i know the gas tube isnt in i cant torque the barrel nut until i get a wrench tomorrow

Rainier Arms in Auburn is the go to place for all your AR needs.  They have a great staff and carry quality stuff.  West Coast Armory in Bellevue is pretty good too.

Well done! I've purchased a bunch of AR parts through them and they are great to deal with. This last summer I picked up one of their billet uppers for a 6.5 Grendel barrel I had and I love it. You don't have to torque the barrel to exact spec. Snug it up in the vise and then rotate the barrel nut to the next hole so as the gas tube will fit center and freely. Glad to hear they hooked you up! Great looking build and a top notch barrel.

I have a black CAA G27 grip that would look tough on that set up. It's your if you want it, it's been laying around on the bench for a year or so now. Just PM me your address if you want it and I'll send it your way.

Is that a Rainier XTC screwed on the end? They work great and surprising enough, they aren't that loud.

yes it is a xtc hey when i tighten that how tight should i go? does the crush washer need to be there it looks pretty dumb between to pieces of stainless. and thank you bighammer those are sweet lookin way better than stock pm sent.

I know what you mean, when it comes to the black crush watainan and stainless set ups I have used either stainless peel washer to shim it , so it indexes correctly or I have even used a stainless lock washer, with the slit portion of the washer facing down. You have to have something in there to index the XTC off of and also keep  tension on it. You can also clen that lock washer up real well, degrease it. Heat it to about 200 degrees or so in the oven, then spray it with flat aluminum Krylon. Let it cool and put it on. If your going to go this route. Don't really crank the XTC down, index it with the min amount of pressure. Touch it up when needed if its ever needed.

im about to drop another rifle at a shop in orting to get coated so im going to see how much he wants to just do the ar barrel and compensator while im at it then i wont really have to worry to much about rust ever i know its stainless but i tend to be on the lazy side when i get back from hunting.
