Getting into upland bird hunting. Wondering if there were any spots close to spokane that are worth going out to for quail or pheasant or any other upland birds

Might be closer spots, but if it were me I'd go about an hour and a half south of Spokane.

They were releasing pheasants west of town at fishtrap (BLM land) in the past, but not sure if they did this year. Most of the bird areas are on private ground around spokane, but the fishtrap is public, but I had heard it is steel shot only this year. May want to check that out for sure before you go.

Fishtrap is non toxic.

Here's the page from the regs listing non toxic shot required areas.
