GAME CARTS

Do you have one? If so, do you recommend it? Which brand and where did you buy it?
It must handle moose quarters! :EAT:
Thanks,
Jason

http://www.ezloadgamecart.com/

I bought the EZ Load game cart last year.  We took out half a cow elk at a time through a clearcut with lots of branches and brush in the way.  We just went over the top of most of it.  It saved us a lot of time.

I do recommend the cart.  It is well built and the guy that builds them is really nice.

That said, after I got the cart, I did see a game cart that some guys in Oregon make.  I think it may be a little better.  I don't seem to have their website saved in my favorites anymore.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

A few years ago we used a Cabelas magnum cart and put a cow elk and a 4 point muley on it.  :chuckle: Come to think of it I shouldn't recomend that one   :chuckle: :chuckle:

Hawkeyebilt have some great carts.
I have the Cabela's Mag Hauler and I love it. If I were to use it on moose I would get the longer axel and second set of wheels.

I use the cabelas magnum  and have hauled a ton of bears out with it! The only thing I changed on it is the nuts that connect the arms.  I went to wing nuts then I dont have to carry it in the truck open.  If you are mechanically inclined you might want to fab up a bicycle brake for it they are a b!t$h going down steep hills with heavy loads!  My buddy is fabing up a goose neck attachment for it so we can trailer it behind our bikes.

I have a Mag Hauler also. I had a buck and all my gear on it and it was like taking a shopping cart down the isles of Safeway. We did put a whole cow on it and it was a little much.

I also have a cabela's and have only used mine one time on a black bear. Mostly, I'm never in a place where I can use one. I like the idea of a brake and wingnuts!

I have the Cabelas collapsable game cart. I haven't used it yet but it breaks down small enough to pack if needed. We have used BTKR's Mag Hauler lots of times it works well.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

My brother has one, I used it last year to help get my bear out...

and I would so recommend it. Once we got to the road with the bear, it was so much easier to take out with that...it is collapsable.

Now that I think about it...we used another one last year too on an elk, again, waiting till we got to the road..didnt use it in a field...I will have to see what brand they are. I dont think my bros cost more than 125 bones or so.

Last year when my son was drawn for a youth cow tag I went and bought 2 spools of 1/2" rope 1200 feet had a game cart with us and a little chain saw 14" out of the 3 the chain saw is a must there is a lot of dead fall and pecker pole where we were and the saw saved us. Cut a path to the road we got her about 300 yards from a road so we put a pulley on a tree next to road and pulled her out whole with the rope. Would not have worked though with all the brush in the way though and you could mount the saw to the cart for hauling also. With all that it still took 41/2  hours from shot to meat in truck have fun.

mkcj, have you ever used mule tape?  That is what we use if needed.  It is what utilitiy workers (Linemen) use to fish wire through conduit.  It is amazingly strong and is just under 1/8  inch thick and about 1/2 inch wide.  I think its working load is 3000lbs but I may be wrong.  It is a lot less bulky than rope.  I am in the trades so thats how I aquired mine.  Maybe someone on here knows where to get it.  I have a disabled cousin that has a spool of it that is 1 mile long and uses it along with snatch blocks to haul deer and elk out of the bush.

I've got a spool of mule tape, that is great stuff but if you get a knot just cut it out cause you can't just un-tie it.
