Lookin for help buying an AR
« on: December 26, 2011, 10:01:20 PM »
I've been saving for a while and have always wanted one.  Got a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for but would like a little help.  I prefer to use local venders and manufacturers when I can, so If anyone knows of a place to go and feel some guns and/or set up a gun close to Kelso WA that would be great.  The internet has lots of places to buy things but it'd sure be nice to hold a few and pull some triggers and I don't mind paying a little more for good service.

The gun will mostly be used for closer shots from 30 out to 200 yards on critters around my house.  It's gonna have a shorter barrel (16"?), not a bull barrel (don't want the weight), it will have a supressor on it and I don't want it to be too long or heavy.  So I wonder what the preferred barrel twist is on the shorter barrel and if anybody knows of a good suppressor that is compact.  Think its gonna get the Eotech 552A651 holographic weapon site, my next big purchase will be a night vision scope (someday).  Its gotta have a rail on it that can mount a flashlight or whatever and an adustable stock too.  Figure that when I get to a gun shop they can help me get my permit for owning a suppressor, but any suggestions you all might have about the gun or any good deals that can help me out would be much appreciated.
