No Ducks
« on: January 02, 2012, 07:06:09 PM »
Hunted one of my favorite spots today near the Long Beach area.  Only ducks I saw tried to land by me as I was picking up my dekes.  :(  Go figure, sit there for three hours of nothing then have them attack when I'm unarmed.  :)  That is one of the reasons I love duck hunting.  Have one more trip this year, hopefully with better results.

Not to many ducks in the last week for me either  :dunno: More ducks should be coming soon though

only saw 2 pintails for 3 hours of sitting in the grays harbor mud flats this afternoon, both of which should have been easy shots, and both of which i missed terribly.

those were the only 2 "good' ducks i saw the whole time, absolutely nothing flying despite the wind and rain storm that was blowing in.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Shot 1 mallard and a pintail at Ridgefield.

There are almost no ducks setting on the refuge.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

Yup....best time to see ducks is when you stop hunting.  :bash: Good luck with the rest of the year
