Help me find the right guide!
« on: January 06, 2012, 04:23:03 PM »
Well, since our beach cabin on Whidbey Island burned to the ground, I haven't been crabbing/fishing in the sound.

My girlfriend loves to fish with me but I don't take her out enough.

I would like to find a guide service for some ocean fishing.

I know that its hit and miss with these things but I don't care about the size of the fish, just a lot of action to please my lady.

Salmon/bottom fishing is both fine with me but $$$ is definitely a factor.

Thanks for any advice!

where are you looking to go out of? There are are a couple of different ports to go out of Westport, Illwaco both have bottom fishing and salmon fishing. Depending on the time of year you can do combo trips as well.

Go to www.salmonuniversity.com and they list some guides plus they have fishing reports for all the different areas, it's good site.

Eburg,,

look at Ifish as well, there are some excellent fishermen on there.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

R&R Charters out of Anacortes for PS fishing.  If the fish are around he seems to bring them in.

Bottomfishing in the sound is pretty restricted, no rockfish and lings May to mid June.  I wouldn't pay for a charter to do that as there are lots of folks on here who would take you for chipping in on gas, including myself.

Sorry aboout your cabin, that sucks.

Seem's like the charters out of Westport are doing trips for sea bass now. Your girlfriend could reel bass in until her arms fell off.

:yeah: Wouldnt mind taking people out fishing, for some good spots for elk/deer(more for my children than me) ...??? Just a thought
I have a 21' Trophy, and go out of Lapush a few times a year(halibut, lings, rocks when open), and fish the sound quite a bit.
But by no means am i a charter!
Paddle faster!!,,,,I hear banjo's!!!!
