Has anyone actually shot a deer/elk with the Bloodline Bullets? I read about them and hear lots of talk, but no actual kills.
Also, has anyone tried the Hawk Precision Bullets in a Knight or Harvester sabot? I'm shooting a Disc Extreme in .52 cal and am starting to work up a load. Just wondering what works best in that caliber. Being a .52 cal rules out a lot of the stuff that works in the .50, which is really no problem, once I find the right load. I just can't afford to buy and shoot it all, so your input would help me cut to the chase! Thanks, everyone!
Thanks Sabotloader,I sure enjoy reading your indepth replies and opinions. So, have you tried the Hawk Precision Bullets?
They make dedicated muzzleloader bullets in .458 and .475, which would work well in the Knight Sabots for .52 cal. Their claim is that they use soft copper jackets and pure lead. They are supposed to "flow", as opposed to breaking up, because of their softness and also retain much of their weight. I intend to try the Bloodlines and may very well use them for hunting, but I'd like to shoot a lot more than my wallet can afford. For around 31.00 plus 10.00 shipping, I can get 50 Hawk bullets. The sabots are extra, at 9.50 and shipping. Anyway, it's cheaper and supposed to really be a good bullet. I just never hear about them on the forum. If I do order the Hawk bullets, would you recommend .458 or .475?
