black jack
« on: January 16, 2012, 05:03:17 PM »
:bash: if anyone happens to go to the state land in the bonnie lake area and finds a foxpro black jack please let me know..
Figured I would go there since my normal spots are not producing any yotes and I always see them when I turkey hunt down there. Find a nice spot tons of scat, tracks nice gentle cross wind, set up the foxpro, set up the blackjack on top of the little nole. get my hide all set up, looks promising. Start off with lightning jack, and bam a freakin hawk swoops down grabs my blackjack and flys off. I fired a shot into the nole hoping he would get scared and drop it but no, that little *censored* cuts in through the trees and outs sight.  :bash: looked around couldnt find it going home pissed to drink a beer

So the moral of this storey is tie down your blackjack. Sorry for your loss sebek556, but this post will keep the rest of us from losing them. Oh by the way, I was thinking of buying one do they work just as good yotes?

it worked great for the first 5 yotes I took this year with it, my daughter has rabbits so I took the critter and threw it in with them when I was not hunting with it so it would also have smell. most of my areas are pretty thick trees. It worked well enough to get one at 25yards to take with the bow  I will try to find it again tomorrow if not off to cabelas for another one.. and maybe some weights

I have a Jack-in -the Box, and a Jack-Attack decoys, and have had many hawks, crows, ravens, and magpies swoop in and check it out, but never had one TAKE it!  Should I be worried?   :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :sry:  :chuckle:

Seem like you should try to cash in on this story and get some kind of endorsement from the company.  I mean seriously what a great advertisement.  "Even the sharp eyes and talons of hawk are fooled by this decoy"
