Need some river help
« on: January 18, 2012, 02:56:48 PM »
I have been asked to a close friends cabin which is located in Dabob Bay (45 min north west of hoods canal floating bridge) . My wife and I are planning on going over to spend the weekend in two weeks. I would like to spend some time fishing. If you can send me some PM's on some insite I would appreciate it. I have never fished up in that area.

I am not looking for holes I just looking for names of rivers

If you will be on Dabob, it would likely be south of the bridge, either on toandos peninsula or by Quilcene.  If by Quilcene, then the close rivers would be Quilcene River, Dosewallips, Duckabush, or a little farther is the Hamma Hamma and Skokomish.  I can't think of too much that you could fish for in those--maybe something open.  People have caught steelies in the dosewallips many years ago.  Could look at fishing the bay if there is an open season.  If you wanted to drive a bit west, I think you would need to head almost to Forks to hit a river still open around then.  You could check the regs, but I think they were going to close the Strait rivers earlier to certain fishing.  Those would be Dungeness, Elwha, Lyre, Twin, Hoko, Seiku, Clallam, etc, as well as some of the creeks (Morse, Salt, etc)
