Kudu done my first African ( A Living Memory Taxidermy)
«

Well this is not mine or a customers, I bought the cape and horns for my display area.
I had never done an African, I heard a lot of nitemares about them and wanted to do one before I took a customers in.
This cape was tanned by my previous tannery. There was extensive epidermal slippage around the face, ears and mid shoulder area. Hopefully will never have an issue like that again.
The last two pictures are my two favorite people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for looking

Nice - better than nearly everything at Cabelas!!
Slippage is common on african game. hot weather and poor care in the field makes it ripe to happen.
My Kudu had no hair on the left side of the face. My taxidermist had to do extensive painting to restore it.

the way it is hanging in that one photo. I stripped out the stand and it is a pain in the butt now to get it lined up. Going to have to get bolt out and then tap and die it again.

looks great! mine has some serious slippage on neck, really pissed me off 'cause I took it in winter & we were super careful with care of it after on the ground, got switched in Africa by taxi is my guess, even his neck mane is shorter.
one question, not being a taxi, how is width determined? that 1 just looks narrow, still looks awesome just curious
