Urban song dogs
« on: January 27, 2012, 09:12:54 PM »
So last night I was walking around the apartment complex with the wife and our dog. We heard a few dogs going nuts and then a pack of coyotes sounding off. I figured it was just because our complex borders one of the small training areas that's not used much. Tonight I was walking the dog and heard the coyotes sounding off from down the hill which isn't really in a training area so I figured the sound was just bouncing around and tricking me. Nope! Another pack answered from up the hill from me. Either someone is blasting a foxpro from their car to drive all the dogs nuts or there are at least 2 packs that are in the general area. I just couldn't believe they would sound off like that while out in the town! I live on the border of lakewood and steilacoom so its not exactly like they have a route to take into the town via fields and such. They have to be using the roads and people's back yards. Must be why there are so many missing pets posters around. I might need to get one of those good air rifles and hunt from my balcony.  :chuckle:

In Lakewood you will be going to jail with an airgun or firearm, you can't even shoot a bow in Lakewood, and those cops are *censored*. Used to dealing with lots of gangs. :chuckle:

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

They're everywhere.  I have seen them, on a regular basis on Main St in Bothell, downtown Redmond, Totem Lake (deer too) Everett Mall, Paine Field, Microsoft-Redmond, Woodinville.  Many have shown no fear at all, some have even approached my car when I whistle/coax, like they have been fed before.  I have had them walk within 10 feet of me like they couldn't care less.  Some I have caught in my headlights and given a good chase too :chuckle:

I drive midnight-0800 through all these areas. I might not see one for several weeks then 1-4 a week for a month+

There was an article from the UW years back claiming as much as 80% of "Lost Cat" posters were  coyote'chow
