Rails/Rings for my Encore
« on: January 29, 2012, 07:59:33 PM »
So I'm having some issues with a couple scopes and eye relief with my Encore rifle. I am thinking I can cure this issue with a rail setup instead of a typical base/ring setup. The problem is that the scope ends up to close to my eye and I'm sure I will get scoped and well, that would suck. I don't have any issue with my Vortex scope on the 22-250 barrel. That is mounted into a Talley 1 piece LW base. I have tried that base and a Leupold DD setup with 2 different scopes and have issues with both of them. 1 is a Leupold vxIII 4.5-14x50 and the other is a Burris Fullfield 3.5-10x50. The burris seems to be really long in the back end. I can only push the scope so far forward then either the rear "bell" hits the rear ring or the center where the turrets are hits the front ring.

The rail options are kind of limited for the Encore but I did find this one and it looks like a quality piece of equipment. Anyone have any experience with EGW?

If I'm not getting into the long range stuff do I just get the 0 moa rail?

Lastly can anyone recommend a good ring to mount on these rails? Looking for something probably in a medium height.

Thanks a lot in advance.
