How recent?
« on: February 07, 2012, 02:27:43 AM »
So I took my dog out for a hike today and while walking around I saw a BT buck that had dropped antlers.  He was about 75 yards away and when I looked at him through my binos, I noticed that both side of his head had blood on it.  I couldn't tell if is was fresh or dried up, but how long ago do you think he dropped his horns?  I looked around for a while but didn't find his.  I did find an elk shed from last year, but not the BT shed.

You probably walked right by it. Chances are it was very recent, best get out there and start looking

That sounds like you barely missed the drop.  Take your dog for a walk he will find them if theres blood.
