new to waterfowlin

This year i lookin to start waterfowl hunting. But i have no real idea on where to go I am in Suncrest just north of spokane. I would like to stay close. Also i do upland hunting and my short hair loves to retrieve and swim was wondering if i should use him or just use a small boat to retrieve. thanks in advance everyone!

well at least get him a neoprene vest lol. if not an extra jacket to throw over him. had a couple short hairs. shiver when they're cold, shiver when they excited, shiver when they want in the back door even when its 80 degrees outside. too smart for their own good. lol. miss those dogs
