XDM 5.25 9mm
« on: February 25, 2012, 10:40:37 PM »
My brother picked up a XDM 5.25 9mm and I test drove it, I never have been a big XD fan. I purchased one of the XD full size .45's several years ago, I think it lasted two weekends before I traded it, it just didn't do anything for me. The XDM 5.25 9mm is a whole different story, well balanced, 19 in fist and one in the pipe, interchangeable grip panels. Spooky accurate, it would stack them in there at 50 yards! I could pretty much use it for calling coyotes. Now I feel like a sell out! When I got home, I actually looked at my Glock 19 and thought of replacing it with the XDM 5.25. What's the matter with me??? I hope the Glock gods don't surf Hunt WA.  ;)

I know, I had to sneak off and shoot it so I wouldn't be seen holding one. Like one of my buddies putting the moves on a group of fat chicks stumbling out of the bar, picking the limper out of the heard. He said it was great fun, you just wouldn't want your buddies to catch you doing it. Maybe I'm just having a moment of weakness, hopefully I'll sleep on it and I'll be snuggled up to my Glock 19 in the morning. You know the saturate, incubate, illuminate thing.

I know there is a lot of glock fans on here. I am not brand loyal and my safes with show that. I just love the xdm. I have owned and shot more then a few glocks. I really do not like them and have had more problems with them then any other handgun. I have thousands of rds threw a xdm without the smallest of problems ever! I think you will like it very much once you own it and pack it around a little. With the big ammo cap in them they are a bit heavy loaded down. I run the 40's right now and and I am thinking about picking up the competition 45

Been kinda pining for one of these... I have a G34 w/ TFO sights and Ghost Rocket trigger that I like a lot, but a couple years ago I won an XD 45 @ a FoNRA banquet and it was surprisingly nice - and I shot it better than my Glock (which I shot better than my CZ75 SP01).  Now Springfield comes out w/ the XDM 5.25 and I'm really torn... I want one, but I've got enough $$$ tied up in my G34 that I don't want to lose my shirt on ...

I have the Springfield XDM 4.5" 45acp. and really happy with it. Very accurate and a pleasure to shoot.
Nothing like a Remington model 700xcr.
