Hit the Nooch today from the bank in the 7400 drift area and not a single hit from either of us in over 5 hours of fishing with everything including the kitchen sink.  Had one guide say that they hit fish way up high into the drift, the second guide had nothing.  Lot of boats on all drifts today.

i don't know if it's just me but it seems like the satsop and wynoochee have just been dead this winter.  on the other hand, it sounds like there's quite a few fish to be had in the skookumchuck.

i blew the cobwebs out of my little jet outboard this afternoon figuring on heading out to the satsop in the morning, but came inside to see the rivers rising and i seem to have lost my motivation.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

I went 3 for 5 today on the nooch.   Two were too small to keep one was a 12 lb native and I lost the other two after a short battle.  I was using eggs and a # 4 stinger hook

My brother has been hitting more on the nooch than the skook the last couple weeks.......hence my two cents.

Thy must be doing well due to the amount of boats on the river, it seems that it is a total crap shoot if you are fishing from the bank.

I'm fishing it wrong then.  The place that I fish is on private land and it takes the boats from the 6400 launch at least until 10:00 at the earliest to get there.  Yesterday it was 11:00 before we got our first drifter blowing through.  It is an awesome stretch of river with just about everything that you would want.  I just can't seem to yard a fish out of it.   :dunno:

I will be honest...  I pulled them all out of the same hole.  When I say hole.  I picked them up in about a 7 foot wide and two feet drop in the water.  I dropped my rod as my junk was drifting by and dropped my junk in it and bang it was on...

I would hook one or catch one.  Then I would leave it alone for about 30 to 40 min then go back to it and do the same thing.

I also found some other places to fish down lower in the river.  It looked like it was tide effected water but I still found some additional water.
