Fish from the Ronde...my second largest fish on this river
«
on:
March 04, 2012, 09:37:47 PM »
I hit the ronde thursday afternoon and fished till this am...fishing was pretty good, but a lotta people down this weekend. Lots of old friends and family down too. We didnt get much fishing done friday and saturday
This am I hooked into what I thought I had foul hooked a fish....couldnt move it. then 30 yards of line burning off. This went on for over 15 min by far the strongest fish I had the pleasure of ever hooking on that river. This fish is a close second to the largest I have landed in 24 years of fishing the river

That is a dandy fish
I need to go fishing
Not to long I will hit some springers in the portland area and then follow them up the gorge. I can't wait for the madness this year

Wow, very nice... I am considering coming over to fish and pick up my son at WSU. It makes a great excuse to go fishing.
I agree with Nubbs you have that river dialed in.

that really depends on time of year..winter thru mid feb I would want water under 3,000 after that I have had some great days fishing up to 8,000 cfs near the hatchery as the fish begin to stack up below hatchery and the fish just get closer to shore when it gets high. This year and last year are much the same, we have had way to much water in Jan and Feb and caused all the fish to race up the river making what is usually prime time in March more of a fizzle
