how to reload classes?

hey i was wondering if there was a class or something i could take to learn how to reload. or if i have to read up n it and do it. any help on this is apprciated thanks everyone

I think rcbs and a few other compaines have some great videos to help teach you some stuff. Also youtube, I have learned a lot of stuff off of youtube. Some good and some bad

I think Cabelas had a class once, maybe still do.  Think they showed all the different tools for comparison (scales vs digital), single vs turret, etc.  And they didn't forget to have kits for sale at the class.

All the reloading manuals I've seen start out with a Reloading 101 chapter.  Supplement that with tips from an "old hand" in reloading, if you know one, or ask questions here.  We all had to start sometime, and the learning never really stops.  I've been at it for around 40 years, and still find out new things.

Ah, yes--the Video age.  When I started, I still had to WIND MY WATCH!

As a beginner myself.....a week now....i suggest a book, youtube, somebody thats been doing it for awhile, and above all else, go slow, check, double check everything. One double powder charge and it could be the end of picking your own nose.

Or worse yet; a cartridge with no powder, followed by a cartidge fired into a barrel with a bullet stuck partway up the bore!
Don't reload unless you can give it your undivided attention.

What kind of press are you using?

im not sure yet. i just decided i wanted to to start reloading for my 7mm rem mag i just bought, to save money. what kind should i look at

The more experieced can help more but for rifle only a single stage rock chucker....dont need a progressive for that.

alright thanks, and should i start out with just buying brass first untill i get the hang of it then start reusing the brass after some practice

Cabelas is having a seminar on reloading this weekend (March 17 & 18), both days.  I believe 2 p.m. on Saturday and I think 1 p.m. on Sunday.

I second the Rockchucker single-stage press.  It's really all I've ever used.  When I was shooting gobs of pistol ammo in the Practical Pistol matches back in the '80s I was tempted to get a Dillon progressive press then, but never did.  I like to give my reloads the "personal touch".

My dad started me reloading when he started me shooting. We had several different brands of various equipment but if you go to any sporting goods or even some Wal-Marts you can buy a Rockchucker Combo Kit, that will have everything to get you started. After you get going there are other items you may like better or decide you want to add, but that is all you need to get started.

I learned from helping someone else reload.  Asking tons of questions, and getting advice from some knowledgeable people.

But that was 30 years ago as well....
