Looking to take pics of turkeys. Any ideas in Eburg area??
« on: March 21, 2012, 01:46:33 PM »
I would like to find some Turkeys, get some pictures.  I am not a turkey hunter, but do like to see them strutting around.  Any ideas in the Eburg area?  PM me if you do not want everyone to see.

Thanks in advance.

John

Come east buddy, if you come towards the blue mountains they are all over starting before you hit prescott you can find them in open fields strutting away, not much of a drive and in a days trip you would see tons of birds and be able to get many pictures.

Teanaway Valley.  They are all over the private land but sometimes will be down next to the road where you can take pics.

This is my backyard in Cle Elum:

You can come take some pictures if you want, but no hunting the yard birds, and I've gotta warn you, there isn't any public land or way to hunt these birds without trespassing come spring.  They aren't in full strut yet, but another week should be about right.

Fishnfowler,

like I said in my OP, do not hunt turkeys...  Never gotten into it being a wetsider most of my life.  I just want to get some good pics of toms in full strut.

Huntbear,

Send me a PM and plan on getting here in the next week.  Just this morning the boys started gobbling and strutting with a vengeance.  It will only be a few days before they abandon the roost and break up for the spring.
