Out of state tags
« on: March 24, 2012, 05:50:37 PM »
Well the wife and I just put in our NR Nevada Antelope tags. We won't know until June 11th if either of us draw. Hoping to get a tag. I used to be a resident their and last drew a tag in '05 and am just now eligble to apply again. Will let you know what the results are.

I used to hunt deer in that unit but we would always get tags in 011, which is my favorite spot. 5 of us have gotten 6 antelope from there.

I had a good time. The weather was warm and great. Unfortunately  the biggest antelope I saw was a good one and passed on the first day. Then I found another good one I found was way out on private and spent a lot of time to get him and found he had a broken cutter. Also hunted 7 for deer and killed a lion. How's 11 for deer?

011 isn't that good for deer. The area is too flat. Since our first hunt there in '87 I've never seen any deer. Granted the only times I've been there is late August. You'd be better off going to 012-014 for deer. Getting that tag is one of the hardest to get but there are some monster bucks. My buddy and his wife both shot big bucks there last year.

Sorry got a little confused. Read to fast. I've heard 51 is good for deer especially in the steep stuff and late season. I saw a few inthe desert her and there but did see some decent deer around the jarbidge area. No monsters but you could tell there were good genetics in pparts.
