Capital forest in olympia is probably your best bet for campgrounds and quad riding. almost all the trails up there for bikes are wide enough for quads and they have several campground areas.

I don't know for sure, but find out about these areas : Evans Creek, Elbe Hills, Shoestring. I'm sure some of the guys on here will help out. I used to jeep these areas years ago, so the treehuggers probably screwed up our riding.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

The closest places to Tacoma would be Capital Forest, by Olympia. Most trails are big enough for a quad and you can drive the roads if you want also.
Next would be Tahuya, out near Belfair. Many miles of multi use trails for MC and quads, along with a few miles of easy jeep trails.

Elbe Hills is about an hour from town and has jeep trails form easy to most difficult. Lots of mud up there and some deep mud holes too  :chuckle:

Evens Creek is another area a little over an hour away up in the hills at the base of Mt Rainier. Some decent jeep trails and even fewer MC trails.

For your more challenging trails most people head east to Little Naches or Rimrock area. Lots of trails and many skill levels to boot.

Have fun  :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w: :4w:

Tahuya is nice for younger and less experienced riders.  It is open all year but the mid winter trail lakes make for some frigid riding.  Capital is nice.  The north side can get muddy and harder for 2 wheelers with the ruts but doeable.  I like it there for the hill climbing and trails, bridges and tunnels.  Many of these areas hold poker runs open to riders of all experience levels.  Missed out on the Capital poker run this year.  If you have a GPS I would bring it along just to give you some idea how far you come/need to go.  Both have pit type toilets.  The Margaret McKinney Campground at Capital Forest is small no water or power but very convient for camping and ORVing.  Capital is close most of the winter months to ATVs.

Oregon dunes! Best riding ever. 7.5 hour drive to Winchester Bay and Coos Bay. And totally worth it!

Walker Valley ORV facility.  In Mount Vernon, WA.  It is trails and rocky.  Lots of various trails to hit and use a 4x4 quad on.  Otherwise if you want sand, Moses Lake, or head to Oregon and hit Sand Lake, Florence or Winchester Bay.  Next stop is Idaho or California dunes.
