Hunting Activism - We're All Responsible for the Future
« on: March 28, 2012, 08:14:38 AM »
Hey Guys,
Remember that when a hunting or gun rights issue shows up, it it all of our responsibility to take action. In this voting year a lot is at stake. If hunting is your passion and you feel, as I do, that the 2nd Amendment is essential to maintaining the rest of our rights under our beloved Constitution, then vote accordingly. When something like the Thurston County No Shooting ordinance rears its ugly head, get involved. It doesn't matter if you live in Thurston Co. or not. If this passes, you can bet your county will be looking at the same thing.

President Obama and Jay Inslee both have failing report cards from the NRA. Why? Because they have promoted and voted for gun control and will, if elected, try to forward their agendas accordingly.

Get involved and do it often. If your state and federal representatives don't know your name and don't know to expect your call on issues of hunting and gun rights, it is your duty to change that now. It will help ensure the future of hunting, our gun rights, and the life of our Bill of Rights long into the future.

Find out about bills that hunters have pushed forward, like the Lacey Act, The Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration act (Pittman Robertson), so that you can show non-hunters why what we do is so valuable for wildlife for everyone to enjoy. Learn about the North American Conservation model and that in the US, wildlife belongs to all of us, hunters and non-hunters alike.

This has never been so important as it is today.

Great Post John, it is so true.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.
He who shed blood with me shall forever be my brother.

U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance Sportsmen's Defense Kit

Make no mistake about it; our freedoms are under attack continuously on national, state, and local levels.  Each and every sportsperson that wants to keep their freedoms, property rights, gun ownership rights, and privileges to hunt and shoot needs to be willing to take a stand to keep these freedoms.  We all must work together to defeat these threats when they arise; it doesn't matter if you don't live in the state or locality where the threat has arisen.  An attack against one of us is an attack against ALL of us.

Working together, we can keep our freedoms.  Apathy, complacency, or an attitude of “It’s not my problem” will most definitely result in the eventual loss of our freedoms.

I have attached a copy of the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance Sportsmen's Defense Kit; it can help you understand how YOU can help defend against threats to YOUR outdoor heritage.

Good post, interesting read on the sportsman defence kit.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
