Been there for a month and only made it out for 1 day. @nd set had one come in from a mile out. Had a broadside shot at 200 but he had to cross the 1 little creek in the area and I let him come. He never came out until about ten minutes later when I put the gun down and picked up the binos to try and find him. He was watching cause he took off in fourth gear. stopped around 400 yds and I squeezed off but the gun didn't fire- had a dud shell with the .300. would have missed anyway. After that I went and sighted in the 22-250 (previous scope went back to the factory and it is in the repair center). Next set I blew on a new rabbit distress call. Put the call down and put my hand under the gun. looked left and heard the leaves crunch. A coyote standing 7 feet down the hill from me on my right. I could have hit it with the barrel. It went back down the hill and I knew I'd see it's retreat so I barked and went up the hill a few feet to change my angle. Spotted it instantly and baked again stopping her for a 70yrd broad side shot. Very fun hunt. Did a few more sets with no success. weather there has been 70's so the hunting is not as good as last year but it sure was a nice break from work. I'll be headed back in a couple weeks for another month of long days so we'll see if I can make it out again while there. Hope you enjoyed and sorry for no pics- didn't bring a camera and the ones on my cell really suck.

What part of ND are you in? If you ever venture to the Eastern side I can point you in the right direction for ducks, geese, fishing, coyote, and good food.
