EF Little Naches Oct 1 -10th
« on: April 05, 2012, 10:45:46 AM »
They are proposing 7 bull permits for Little Naches (GMU 346) from Oct 1 to the 10th?  Is this a new permit for this year or was it available last year?  I don't know how I missed this before.  Talk about a rut hunt!

I drew that same permit in 1996, so it's definitely not new!

That is a great permit to have!  They are still rutting hard on Oct 1st.

You gotta remember, it was 1996, the dark ages, no internet (at least for me) and no digital cameras. Nope, I don't have any pictures of it. Don't even have the antlers anymore. Set them in an ant hill so they could clean it up for me, went back a month later and it was gone.

Yep, I guess it never happened.   :chuckle:

In the revised proposals they bumped it up to 10.  Seems like it would be a great tag too have.

I have a question, if you had 17 points would you put in for that tag or a rifle or muzzy tag for the blues??

I had that permit in 1998.  Couldn't spend much time on the hunt, so when I saw a legal bull opening morning I shot it.  The four point hit the ground, the cows it was with ran out into the middle of the clear cut and then a six point came out of the tree line and stood with the cows.  Very frustrating.  Worse thing was, I knew the older bull was in the area, but I got elk fever and pulled the trigger early.

Not New.  I've applied for that tag for the last 10 years or so, whenever I wasn't doing archery.  Now that they have opened up other opps this last year, I didn't apply.

I don't like that permit as much since they opened up Little Naches for the general early archery season.

I thought it was a disabled hunt.

There is a permit for disabled hunters at the same time.

I believe it also overlaps with the Peaches Muzzy permit. I used to appy for it, but have switched to other options since I started archery hunting more.
