Martin Jaguar
« on: April 06, 2012, 10:15:11 PM »
So I have never bow hunted before but I traded yard work for a Martin Jaguar compound and i think it is a few years old. Good deal, i have never really heard about Martins. Any thoughts?

Take it to a pro shop have it checked out. Some of the older martins had some problems. Most now days are pretty solid.

i only ever shoot martin, i love them more than the other brands. To each his own though. Martin is only located in Walla Walla so its pretty convenient. like the others said get it checked by a shop, a new set of limbs for my old martin cost me 150 installed last year so its not to bad IMO

The Jaguar was the first bow I owned.  Good solid bow easy to shoot and light weight.

The Martin Jaguar was also my first bow and I killed a couple deer with it. That was about 10 years ago. I now have a Martin Pantera. From your posts I see you're in Yelm, you might take it to Fletchsetters in Rainier and have them check it to make sure it's safe and also check that the draw length is set correctly for you. That's one thing nice about the Martins is that changing the draw length only requires the chane of a module, and that costs very little. Did you get all the modules with the bow?

I have a jaguar and its a great solid bow.   Definetly not a high end bow but not a cheap flimsy one either.  Works great for me as im a beginner but if i really get into archery ill be upgrading to a more higher end Martin.
