Bonnie the 3 legged GWP
« on: April 14, 2012, 12:50:56 AM »
So I thought I would give a quick update on Bonnie, our GWP who was hit by a car in January.  She has had three legs for about 2 1/2 month now and it is incredible how she adapted.  She runs faster than our beagle, she loves the water, she has amazed me.  I thought I would share some pictures of her, I am not going to lie, I am so proud of her and how great she is.

It is so amazing how they can adapt and over come so naturally.

Congrats to you and your family

That is awesome.  Good for you and the dog.  Do you hunt her?

That is awsome.  Love the ending to this story that started so tragically.  I even love the picutures more.  I have a special spot in my heart for WHP's, they are amazing dogs.

Great pics.  Glad it worked at as well as it did.

I see a lady walking a 3 legged dog most days on my way home from work.  It looks like a mixed breed of some type.  I always get a smile on my face when I see that dog because its tail is doing circles and you can tell it is loving life.  It doesn't seem to know or care that it is missing a limb.

We got her as a grouse dog/family dog.  She is the best family dog ever, second only to our beagle, as for hunting we are letting her get her endurance back up to par, and then we will see.  If she seems to have the ability this next late summer (walking her where we hunt) we might pursue training her more intensely, but for now she is just our little lady.
