Dead coyote
« on: April 14, 2012, 05:38:04 PM »
Went out this morning to scout. Had no idea I was anywhere near the birds. ended up having them fall in my lap. 2 seconds later a coyote jumped out and ran through the middle of them and sent them into the next county. The coyote ended up scenting me and moving out. He stopped in the middle of the field. So I tried doing a mousy sound against my hand, He ended up coming right back to me at about 40 yards. All I had was my 22 auto pistol. I thought what the heck. 3 quick rounds, 2 hits, and one dead coyote. I went back later, saw the turks movin back in, And what happens. Midday, another coyote ran right through them. Couldnt get the second one close enough! Pesty buggers. Last year opening morning, same place the birds hit the ground out of range and a bobcat jumped out right on a big tom, the tom put up a good fight, but lost. Ya think Id pick a better spot. Oh well, we will see what tommorow brings.

Sounds to me like you should be using lead BBB for turkey hunting! That would knock a yote down flat at 40 yards!
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
