MK-85 Came in Today
« on: April 26, 2012, 08:12:54 PM »
I am not sure why I bought this but at this point I think I am really glad... Got a great price on the auction and now that it is here I can not prove that it is not a NIB...

Nothing looks used.... the breech is spotless, even the tip of the ram rod is perfectly clean - no powdere smuge no stains...  Even the box is in great shape...

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

Thats funny, I was watching and admiring that gun and wonder if I should give you a call on it. Good thing I didn't run up the bid on you.  :chuckle: See what you've done to me.
BOOM ...That's funny ....BOOM !

i like the hood on the front sight. i wonder if useing one of those would help with accuracy at 100 yards to say 140. i can shoot ok to 100 with open sight have not tried past that.

I really believe the hood is a sight aid... when you look trough the hole setup - it kinda looks like you are looking through a 1x scope...

I have the twin to that MK85 only I swapped out the sight to a williams peep.  Bought it many years ago and it's still my favorite.  Shoots unbelievable to 200 yards, with a scope further.  I bought a Disc Extreme but it sits in the safe cause I always grab the predator.  Gotta love a Knight.

I would agree with that.  It deffinetly helped me with my grouping.  If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for the mk-85

I was looking to get a ML for next year and was hoping to be able to get into some prime hunts and draw a multi season for elk.  For that price I would buy two one for my self and for my son. Just don't know much about them and what to look for.

Congrats.  You ever want to sell it I'll give ya profit and still be happy. :chuckle:   I've had mine since the first year they came out with it.  Bought a new Disc Extreme but still use the predator, it just shoots better.  Fell in love with the Knights and at present I have five.

Have fun shooting your new find, Lucky. :chuckle:

Nice.  I might be mistaken, but I believe I read somewhere that the model number....MK-85 was in reference to his daughter, perhaps Mary or similar born in 85'.  Maybe someone here knows the specifics.
