best single shot shotgun

I have been wondering what you all have as far as single shot's. I was thinking of getting a 20 or .410 for hauling around in my car while in the woods.

my first shotgun was a single shot .410 and i still have it, i got a .20ga barrel for it and i love it, i would go with a .20ga just because shells are cheaper then a .410

When you asked about the Best single shot I thought you might be looking at one of these.

For what your looking for I'd look for an older Savage 220, a nice older single with a safety and no exposed hammer.  You can find them in sets with a 30-30 or 22 Hornet spare barrel.  The rifle barrels are realy handy on these because you can mount the scope low and dont have to leave clearance for your thumb to cock the hammer.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I carry a Circuit Judge as my truck gun. Always in the truck. Not single shot. But very useful as a all round firearm.

winchester model 37, in twenty gauge.

save the 410 for plinking and get a twenty- you will recover more birds, plus you can throw a slug in there if need be.
